COLUMBUS— House Minority Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) and House Democrats Tuesday sent a letter to Secretary of State Frank LaRose addressing recent major developments in Ohio’s elections. Ohioans watched last week as Post Office mailboxes and processing machinery were dismantled and removed in Ohio and across the country. Following national outcry over potential election interference, USPS has said they would halt additional reorganization changes until after the November election, but it is still unclear whether the reductions in service and processing will be undone.

COLUMBUS –House Minority Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) today issued a statement following the unveiling of the COVID-19 Ohio Minority Health Strike Force Blueprint, a formal report from the task force on minority health the governor convened in April.Leader Sykes, a member of the Strike Force, was not notified of the final report until this morning after several weeks of delays. COLUMBUS— House Minority Leader Emilia Sykes (D-Akron) and the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus (OLBC) signed onto aletter by the National Community Reinvestment Coalition regarding the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s (OCC) changes to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) performances, which would delay an economic recovery from COVID-19. The CRA, enacted in 1977, requires the Federal Reserve and other federal banking regulators to encourage financial institutions to help meet the credit needs of the communities in which they do business, including low and moderate-income (LMI) neighborhoods.
