COLUMBUS – State Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) announced today that the State Controlling Board this week approved over $55 million to the Department of Development to support housing assistance programs throughout Ohio. Funding will be used for rental assistance, housing counseling, homebuyer assistance, handicap accessibility modifications, rehabilitations, home repair and construction for low-income Ohioans.

“As we continue to look for solutions to address the needs of our communities, I am pleased to announce funding that will help Ohioans secure safe housing,” said Rep.
