COLUMBUS—State Representatives Candice Keller (R-Middletown) and Darrell Kick (R-Loudonville) today introduced a resolution to show that the stance of the state of Ohio is that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.

“As we approach the 71st anniversary of the establishment of the state of Israel, I am honored to join Representative Kick and the people of Ohio in declaring, as President Trump did one year ago, that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel,” said Rep Keller. “Israel is an important ally of our nation, and although some seek to erase the Jewish identity, I think it is necessary to recognize the history and significance of the Jewish homeland.”

“For decades, we have heard from Presidents promising to acknowledge that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel,” said Rep. Kick. “Now that our current President has fulfilled this promise, we as Ohioans should proclaim what we have known for decades. Not only is this the right thing to do, but this recognition can only help strengthen Ohio’s illustrious economic partnership with Israel.”

This resolution will declare that the will of the people of Ohio is to declare that Jerusalem is the capital of the Israel.
