State Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) took the oath of office today during the opening session of the 133rd Ohio General Assembly at the Ohio Statehouse, officially beginning his first term as state lawmaker.

“I am excited to start doing the people’s work,” said Rep. Weinstein. “Business as usual has failed us these past few years, but with so many new state representatives on both sides of the aisle, I am hopeful we will be able to work together and do some big things for Ohio.”

Weinstein is a former councilman for the City of Hudson, where he had a bipartisan record of achievement for growing the local economy, expanding broadband internet access and partnering with private sector groups to enhance city parks.

With over a decade of leadership experience in private-sector information technology, Weinstein is excited to use his business experience to help Ohio attract more good-paying jobs.

“After spending a lot of time talking to voters and earning their trust, one thing is clear - we can't afford to waste time and resources being divisive or small at their Statehouse,” added Weinstein. “I am ready to work with Republicans and Democrats alike to do what’s right for Ohio.”

A veteran, Weinstein served in the U.S. Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB before earning an MBA from the Ohio State University. He lives in Hudson with his wife, Dr. Amanda Weinstein, and two daughters.
