Representative Hillyer to Serve as Civil Justice Committee Chair
COLUMBUS – State Representative Brett Hillyer (R-Uhrichsville) today was appointed to serve as Chairman for the Ohio House of Representatives Civil Justice Committee for the second consecutive term.
“I have had the privilege of serving as a prosecutor in multiple capacities, and I’m excited to continue to use those experiences to lead the Civil Justice Committee,” Hillyer said. “I am grateful to Speaker Stephens for trusting me with this position again, and I look forward to hearing legislation soon.”
As a practicing attorney, Hillyer has experience in probate, real estate, and oil and gas law. He began private practice in 2011 at the Law Firm of Connolly, Hillyer & Ong and, in 2016, became an agent for Ohio Bar Title and Commonwealth Title. In 2013, he was elected Uhrichsville City Law Director & Prosecutor.
Hillyer was appointed to serve in this position by Speaker Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill).
“The House Civil Justice Committee is responsible for many important policies,” Stephens said. “Representative Hillyer led this committee with patience and efficiency in the last General Assembly, and I am confident that he will continue to do so.”
