COLUMBUS —State Representative Brett Hillyer (R-Uhrichsville) yesterday presented Coach Bob Huggins with a resolution to celebrate his induction into the 2022 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Coach Huggins served as the head men’s basketball coach at Walsh College in 1980 for three seasons, then at Central Florida, The University of Akron, the University of Cincinnati, and for Kansas State University before joining West Virginia’s coaching staff, where he’s been since 2007. During his 40 year career, he has over 900 career wins, numerous conference championships, and 25 NCAA tournament appearances.

“Bob Huggins has become a household name across the country for his immense hard work and success in college basketball,” Hillyer said. “I could not think of anyone more deserving of this honor, and I am humbled to have the opportunity to recognize him with this resolution.”

House Resolution 384 was adopted by the House last month after Coach Huggins was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame earlier this year.
