Democratic Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) today joined Dem lawmakers to urge House Republican leaders to call the chamber back into session to address several critical issues facing the state, including health and the economy amid the coronavirus pandemic, systemic racism and police brutality, questions surrounding the November election, and looming state budget shortfalls.

COLUMBUS—Today, State Representative Beth Liston (D-Dublin) voiced her disappointment that the Ohio House voted against accepting Senate amendments to House Bill (HB) 61, her bill to maintain the safety of mental healthcare providers by exempting their personal and familial information from being released under Public Records Laws.

State Rep. Beth Liston (D-Dublin) issued a statement today following the passage of House Bill 624,Republican legislation that would require the release of certain COVID-19 related data, which Liston says will make it more difficult for health departments to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

COLUMBUS- State Reps. Michele Lepore-Hagan (D-Youngstown) and Dr. Beth Liston (D-Dublin) today called for action on HB 560, universal vote-by-mail (UVBM) legislation. The bill would require ballots to be mailed to all registered voters with return postage pre-paid and without the added step of having to apply for a ballot first. The bill also includes preservation of safe in-person voting opportunities.

COLUMBUS- State Reps. Dr. Beth Liston (D-Dublin) and Thomas Patton (R-Strongsville) today introduced House Bill (HB) 580 to guarantee that health providers receive equivalent re-imbursement for covered services, regardless of whether they are conducted in person or remotely, during times of crisis. HB 580 will ensure that people get the care they need, while still maintaining safety for both the patient and the provider.
