State Rep. Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) visited Lordstown Motors to tour the plant and understand more about the jobs growth it may bring to the Mahoning Valley. Cutrona acknowledged his enthusiasm for next week’s Endurance pickup truck unveiling.

“This will be such a great event for our area, lots of people including myself are very excited for this important unveiling happening right here within the Mahoning Valley,” said Cutrona. “This is a prime example of how we can bring the opportunity of jobs back to the area, it’s exactly what we need – more business and more jobs.”

Cutrona noted that meeting the Lordstown Motors team was extremely educational in learning both about their operations and how the plant impacts the region.

Lordstown Motors Corp. (LMC) is an Ohio-based original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of light duty fleet vehicles, founded by CEO Steve Burns with the purpose of transforming Ohio’s Mahoning Valley and Lordstown, Ohio into the epicenter of electric-vehicle manufacturing. On November 7, 2019, LMC acquired the 785 acre, 6.2 million square foot GM Assembly Plant in Lordstown, Ohio from General Motors where they will build the Lordstown Endurance, believed to be the world’s first fully-electric pickup truck.

Lordstown Motors has set a goal to make the Endurance pickup truck the safest, most economical, and greenest electric pickup truck ever built. The Endurance will be manufactured and assembled at the Lordstown facility.

Cutrona will be in attendance of the significant unveiling happening at Lordstown Motors on next Thursday, June 25.
