Cutrona Supports Concurrence of House Bill 172
COLUMBUS – State Representative Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) supports the House Concurrence Vote on House Bill 172 that was voted out of the Ohio House by a margin of 72-23 today.
This legislation allows for the purchase of consumer grade fireworks and establishes the Ohio Fire Code Rule Recommendation Committee to review fireworks law.
The laws regarding fireworks have been largely unchanged in Ohio and this legislation will make long overdue changes to current law. This legislation intends to make Ohio safer while also allowing our citizens to celebrate occasions and express their pride responsibly.
“Ohioans should not be denied the right to properly celebrate holidays and special occasions by enjoying a firework show, House Bill 172 is an important piece of legislation and I look forward to it becoming law,” said Cutrona.
Ohio now is one step closer to joining 49 other states that allow citizens to legally enjoy firework celebrations.
