State Rep. Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) continues pushing for efforts to aid businesses due to the impact from the pandemic.

Cutrona has recently introduced House Bill 218, which extends operating hours for bars by one hour for the period of one year. The bill is meant to assist businesses that have had losses in revenue over the last year due to COVID-19.

“Over the course of the pandemic, we have seen countless businesses struggle financially and close their doors,” said Cutrona. “This legislation will help provide some much needed relief for our bars by providing them with the opportunity to stay open for an extra hour without the worry of health orders or curfews.”

Cutrona notes that orders and curfews have led to losses for businesses and this will help with recouping for bars across the state and Mahoning Valley.

The bill has been referred to the House Commerce and Labor Committee and awaits its first hearing.
