Cutrona Fights Corona, Statewide Curfew Lifted

After several months of efforts – introducing pro-business bills, discussions with the governor, and while working at an infectious disease medical practice - State Rep. Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) is pleased to announce the statewide curfew on bars and restaurants has been lifted by the administration beginning today.

“Due to the consistent decline in hospitalizations from COVID-19, the administration has decided to lift the restrictive curfew on businesses across our state and the Mahoning Valley,” said Cutrona. “I was proud to have been part of the discussions and worked extensively both on the medical and business side of things to ensure we curb the spread and get our economy open again.”

Cutrona noted that he has had pandemic-related discussions directly with the governor and his office within the past few months.

Related to COVID-19, Cutrona is a chief operating officer of an infectious disease medical practice within Mahoning County; he added that they have been on the frontlines and the pandemic has been one of his top priorities. The medical practice has played an intricate role in helping reduce the spread while curbing deaths and hospitalizations across the Valley.

The representative has also been an avid champion for small businesses as he’s supported several initiatives over the last few months including COVID-19 relief bills, the Business Fairness Act, and encouraging restaurants and bars to apply for assistance programs.

“At the end of the day, we pushed hard using many ways and methods to get these hospitalizations down. I’m very pleased we’ve accomplished that goal so that fewer people are sick and that businesses can safely stay open with their normal hours in place to help boost our local jobs and economy,” Cutrona added.
