Al Cutrona News

State Rep. Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) announces his support on the extension of the statewide curfew hours for bars and restaurants from 10 to 11 p.m. – the new curfew guidelines begin today.

“As a chief operating officer of an infectious disease medical practice in Mahoning County, COVID-19 has been priority number one for me as I pledged that ‘Cutrona fights corona,’” said Cutrona. “I’m very happy to see we’re moving in the right direction to getting Ohio back on track. I will continue to support initiatives that supports our businesses and workers across the Valley.”

In support of businesses, Cutrona recently encouraged businesses to apply for the Bar and Restaurant Assistance Fund. This initiative gives bars, restaurants, and other liquor permit holders the opportunity to apply for funding due to the pandemic.

During the current and previous General Assemblies, Cutrona has been an advocate for businesses and workers as he has pushed for:

·         Legislation removing restrictions on bars and restaurants, which was set to eliminate the emergency rule from the Ohio Liquor Control Commission that has banned restaurants and bars from selling alcohol after 10 p.m. due to COVID-19;

·         Supporting COVID-19 relief bills, which have resulted in getting aide to small businesses, health care workers, and others impacted by the pandemic; and

·         Cosponsoring the “Business Fairness Act,” legislation that allows any business that can comply with safety standards from government orders or regulations to stay open.

Cutrona anticipates the curfew extension to continue into later hours in the coming weeks.

“Rest assured, I’m going to keep fighting for our businesses to safely reopen for extended and pre-pandemic normal hours as we see reduced hospitalizations and deaths across our state,” Cutrona added.
