COLUMBUS – State Representative Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) highlighted the State Controlling Board’s granting funding for two projects in Mahoning County.
First, the Controlling Board will be allocating $265,059 to Eastern Gateway Community College. The college will use tis funds to purchase equipment to better their workforce training programs.
“The workforce shortage is a major problem in our state although we have been hard at work to combat the issue, with the help of allocations like this we are able to invest in our future generations which is imperative for creating a healthy workforce,” said Cutrona.
Additionally, the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction has received $710,493 for constructing of the Shower Door Replacement Project.
The correctional institution was built in 1998, and while it has been maintained regularly, due to normal wear and tear, the 64 pneumatic controlled shower doors need to be replaced.
