Today, State Representatives Margy Conditt (R-Liberty Township) and Wes Retherford (R-Hamilton) presented a resolution to Officer Devin Hoover honoring him as the 2015 Correction Officer of the year.

“I'm very proud of Officer Hoover,” said Rep. Retherford. “It's this kind of dedication to duty and service that ensures that Ohio institutions are ran smoothly. Officer Hoover is a role model for anyone looking to make a difference in our State”

The officers of the Lebanon Correctional Institution select an individual that goes above and beyond their job duties to receive this award each year. The officers selected show exemplary skills, setting them apart from the rest of the qualified officers.

“I thank Mr. Hoover for his years of service and hope he continues to serve the people of House District 52,” stated Rep. Conditt. “He is a blessing to our community and I am so proud to call him my constituent.”

Officer Hoover is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice-Administration Management, while working as a Correctional Officer at the Lebanon Correctional Institution. He has also served in the United States Army and is currently a member of the Ohio Army National Guard. He has been assigned to various posts and recently completed a Temporary working level assignment as a Lieutenant.

“Mr. Hoover is an upstanding citizen of Butler County,” said Rep. Derickson. “It is a privilege for me to be a part of presenting this resolution in his honor.”

Officer Hoover has been married to his wife Ashley for 7 years and they have two boys, Griffinn and Maverick. Officer Hoover accepted the resolution during today’s Ohio House session.
