COLUMBUS - 

State Representatives Wes Retherford (R-Hamilton) and Anne Gonzales (R-Westerville), who jointly sponsored House Bill 98, today applauded Governor John Kasich for his executive order to assist military veterans obtain civilian employment and job licenses.


The following statement can be attributed to Rep. Retherford:



“We applaud Governor Kasich’s continued commitment to getting Ohioans back to work and making our state a better place to live and work. The executive order supports what our bill, House Bill 98, strives to do—allowing vital job training that our military veterans obtained while in the service to translate to job licenses when they enter the civilian workforce. This executive order will assist our military veterans who have sacrificed much to serve our nation.”



The following statement can be attributed to Rep. Gonzales:



“We are thankful to Governor Kasich for signing this executive order helping Ohio’s veterans work in career fields utilizing their advanced training. This united effort between the administration and the legislature accomplishes an important mission, allowing vital job training obtained by our military veterans to translate to state licenses required for specialty trades when they enter the civilian workforce. This executive order, partnered with House Bill 98 upon passage in the Senate, will assist our military veterans who have sacrificed much to serve our nation and we are pleased they will be able to more effectively find and retain gainful employment.”
