State Representative Wes Retherford (R-Hamilton) today honored the City of Hamilton for having been chosen as the best tasting water in Ohio. Rep. Retherford presented city officials with a commendation on behalf of the Ohio House of Representatives in honor of the achievement at the city council meeting.

“Everyone cares deeply about having clean, healthy and good-tasting water in their community,” Rep. Retherford said. “The City of Hamilton has continued to take the quality of its water to a whole new level, though. The residents of Hamilton should certainly be pleased with this accomplishment, and I’m proud to recognize the city’s water on behalf of the Ohio House.”

The city participated in the American Water Works Association water tasting competition in Dayton, where its water came in first place by a unanimous vote. As a result, the city could compete at the AWWA Annual Conference, where it was noted as one of the top five competitors in North America.

Previously, the City of Hamilton has been named the best tasting water in the U.S. in 2009 and the best in the world in 2010.
