COLUMBUS—State Representative Wes Retherford (R-Hamilton) yesterday was sworn in as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives for the 132nd General Assembly. He represents the 51st Ohio House District, which includes the cities of Hamilton and Fairfield, Ross Township, and portions of Fairfield, Hanover, and St. Clair townships. This will be his third term as state representative.

08.05.16 - State Representative Wes Retherford: Sales Tax Holiday Set For First Weekend Of August

 

State Representative Wes Retherford (R-Hamilton) announced today that a sales tax holiday, created through the passage of Senate Bill 264, is set to be held the first weekend of August. The intent of the sales tax holiday is to provide parents with some tax relief during back-to-school shopping in preparation for the new school year and to stimulate economic activity for Ohio’s retailers.

As temperatures heat up and our schedules get packed with vacations and kids baseball games, we make time in our calendars to see fireworks and celebrate the Fourth of July. This year is the 240th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a milestone that has me reflecting on what it means to live in a republic that allows for freedoms that many around the globe have never known.
