COLUMBUS—State Representative Tim Ginter (R-Salem) today announced Cassidy Varagliotti as the 5th House District winner of the 2017 Ohio House of Representatives Student Art Exhibition.

Cassidy attends United Local High School in Hanoverton, and is taught by Kathryn Matthews.

“Cassidy’s artwork is an incredible example of the talent that we have in Columbiana County,” said Ginter. “I applaud Cassidy for her outstanding achievement and wish her the best in her future endeavors.”

The exhibition is open to the public at the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts in the lower level Statehouse connector through December 30, 2017.

The Ohio House of Representatives, Ohio Arts Council, and Ohio Art Education Association joined together for the second annual student exhibition, which showcases high school artwork from all 99 Ohio House districts.

The exhibition recognizes the talents, creativity, and innovation of students who receive high quality arts education instruction as part of their academic experience in school and represents art by some of Ohio's finest high school artists.

Students attended an award ceremony earlier this month at the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts to be recognized for their achievement.
