COLUMBUS—Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) has appointed Representative Tim Ginter (R-Salem) as Chair of the Advisory Board of the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (GOFBCI).

The GOFBCI was created in 2003 as a way to increase the effectiveness of faith-based and community organizations by investing in innovating social services and strengthening the capacity of service organizations.  Rep. Ginter’s vision of supporting the work of local nonprofits to empower and equip individuals in need will be a catalyst for future initiatives.  Along with another appointment by Speaker Rosenberger, Chip Weiant, Rep. Ginter will lead the GOFBCI in helping turn the tide of Ohio’s high rate of infant mortality, recidivism, hunger, and more.

“I am honored to be chosen to help guide and support the vision of the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives,” Ginter said.  “Throughout my district I witness people suffering on a daily basis, and I’m looking forward to advancing the efforts of our ever important social service sector.”

Representative Tim Ginter is currently serving his second term as state representative for the 5th Ohio House District, which encompasses all of Columbiana County.
