A lifelong resident of Central Ohio, Representative Tim Schaffer currently is serving his fourth non-consecutive term in the House of Representatives, serving the 77th House District, which encompasses most of Fairfield County.  Representative Schaffer's tenure in public office began when he was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2000. After serving three terms he was elected to represent the 31st Ohio Senate District.

01.11.18 - Rep. Schaffer Introduces Legislation Rejecting Tax Expansion On Oil And Gas Industry

 
COLUMBUS -

State Representative Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) provided sponsor testimony today to the House Government Accountability and Oversight Committee on his legislation clarifying when sales tax can be collected on the oil and gas industry. House Bill 430 rejects the Ohio Department of Taxation’s recent expansion of the state sales tax to parts of the oil and gas production industry that have been recognized as exempt since 1934.

12.13.17 - Ohio House Passes Legislation Allowing Vendors To Recoup Sales Tax From Bad Debt Credit Cards

 
COLUMBUS -

The Ohio House today approved House Bill 104, legislation sponsored by State Representative Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster), which allows vendors to receive a refund for sales tax remitted for credit card transactions that the customer later defaults on.

 
 

11.09.17 - State Rep. Schaffer Introduces Legislation Recognizing Atomic Veterans

 
COLUMBUS -

State Representative Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) today announced that he has introduced a bill that will designate July 16th as Atomic Veterans Day in Ohio and a concurrent resolution urging Congress to pass the Atomic Veterans Healthcare Parity Act.
