A lifelong resident of Central & Southeast Ohio, Representative Tim Schaffer is currently serving in his sixth term in the Ohio House of Representatives, serving the 77th district in Fairfield County. Representative Schaffer was first elected to the Ohio House in 2000. After serving three terms he was elected to the Ohio Senate in the 31st district. He returned to the House in 2015.

04.03.19 - Rep. Schaffer Introduces Legislation That Will Close A Loophole In The Child Exploitation Law

 

COLUMBUS— State Representative Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) introduced on Monday legislation that will close a loophole in Ohio’s child exploitation law. House Bill 180 would prohibit a performance in which a child simulates sexual activity from taking place in an establishment that is a D liquor permit holder. If the offending establishment is a D liquor permit holder the court will order the revocation of the permit.

 
 

03.19.19 - Rep. Schaffer Gives Sponsor Testimony On Legislation To Urge FMCSA To Change Regulation Standards For Drivers Not At Fault In Crashes

 

COLUMBUS— State Representative Tim Schaffer (R-Lancaster) gave sponsor testimony today in the first hearing on legislation that encourages the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrator to change BASIC (Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories) regulation standards to consider only crashes in which the driver was at fault.
