State Rep. Tom Patton (R-Strongsville) encourages interested Ohio businesses and college students to apply for the Diversity and Inclusion Technology Internship Program. The initiative incentivizes businesses to apply for the program if needing collegiate level students to work as interns for their company.

For businesses who apply and are put into the program, it is an opportunity to hire diverse students while being reimbursed two-thirds of their interns’ wages up to $10,000. In applying, businesses will need to provide internship experience, have non-residential work space, and must hire interns as employees.

For those college students interested in technology especially, college students are encourages to apply and can be studying in any area. Students must be an Ohio resident attending college anywhere in the United States, or a non-Ohio resident attending school in Ohio. Diverse and international students are also encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

“This is a great coordinated effort in assisting Ohio businesses to hire our Ohio students,” said Patton. “I believe this will ultimately help them get critical skills necessary to not only help their college careers, but also to enhance their workforce experience.”
