COLUMBUS— Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) has announced that State Representative Theresa Gavarone has been appointed to serve on four Ohio House committees.

Earlier this month, Gavarone was appointed to serve as vice chair of the House Health Committee. Following this week’s announcement, she will also be serving on the following committees:

• Education & Career Readiness
• Higher Education & Workforce Development
• Civil Justice

Outside of the House standing committee format, she will also serve on the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR), which reviews rules that are proposed or amended by more than 110 agencies to ensure they do not exceed their authority.

“I want to thank Speaker Rosenberger and his leadership team for their hard work in deciding these committee assignments,” Gavarone said. “I am incredibly honored to have a leadership role on the Health Committee, as well as the responsibility of being on two other committees—Education and Higher Education—that will help ensure our young people receive the best education possible.  These committees, including Civil Justice and JCARR, afford me the opportunity to strongly represent the people of Wood County and I look forward to the work ahead.”

Gavarone is serving her first term in the Ohio House of Representatives after being appointed in 2016. She represents the 3rd Ohio House District, serving residents of Wood County.
