Today, Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) appointed Representative Theresa Gavarone (R-Bowling Green) as Vice Chair of the House Health Committee.


“With so many great members in this caucus to choose from, I feel honored that Speaker Rosenberger and Caucus Leadership has appointed me to serve as vice chair of the Health Committee during my first full term,” Gavarone said. “I am also extremely excited to work with Chairman Huffman and look forward to working on legislation important to the people of Wood County.”


Rep. Gavarone is serving her first term in the Ohio House of Representatives after being appointed in 2016. She represents the 3rd Ohio House District, serving residents of Wood County.


Rep. Gavarone holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University and a law degree from the University of Toledo. As a resident of Wood County for over 30 years, she has an extensive background representing the community, serving on the Bowling Green City Council and participating in the local Kiwanis group. On city council, she was chair of the Public Lands and Buildings Committee and also served on the Finance and Ways and Means Committee as well as the Planning, Zoning, and Economic Development Committee.


In addition to her public service, Rep. Gavarone is an attorney with Ruck & Wright Law and the co-owner of a family business with her husband of 24 years, Jim. She and Jim reside in Bowling Green, where they attend St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with their three children.
