Last week, State Representative Steven Arndt (R-Port Clinton) participated in the Ohio Judicial Conference Judicial-Legislative Exchange program where he had Erie County Juvenile Court Judge Robert C. DeLamatre accompany him to various events to show Judge DeLamatre what a legislator’s day looks like.

Throughout the day Judge DeLamatre attended several events with Representative Arndt including committee hearings, meetings with constituents, and the Ohio House session. Judge Delamatre attended these events to gain a better understanding of the duties of Ohio legislators.

“It was truly a pleasure to share the day with someone as respected and experienced as the likes of Judge DeLamatre,” said Rep. Arndt. “The day ended with an even stronger mutual appreciation and understanding for our individual responsibilities and daily challenges we face in our respective capacities.”

The Judicial-Legislative Exchange Program pairs legislators and judges in order to improve the relationship of judicial and legislative branch officials. This program allows participants to discover what the other does and promotes relationship and resource building.
