Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) recently appointed State Representative Steven Arndt (R-Port Clinton) to serve as a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as well as the Turnpike Legislative Review Committee.

“It is a true honor and privilege to serve on these committees,” Arndt said. “Considering the fact that House District 89 contains a significant portion of the turnpike, I hope to serve as a voice for those impacted by this road, in addition to all other highways in and around the 89th District.”

Representative Arndt was appointed to fill the vacant 89th House District seat, and was sworn in during September of last year. In addition to the committees he was recently appointed to, Arndt serves on the Armed Services, Veterans Affairs, and Public Safety Committee, the Commerce and Labor Committee, and the Economic and Workforce Development Committee.

Prior to his appointment to the Ohio House of Representatives, Arndt was a small business owner and served as Ottawa County Commissioner for 27 years. Throughout his tenure he sat on various committees, including the Jobs, Economic Development, and Infrastructure Committee.

The 89th Ohio House District that Arndt serves encompasses both Ottawa and Erie counties.
