State Representative Steve Hambley (R- Brunswick) today announced Kasey Kania as the 69th House District winner of the 2017 Ohio House of Representatives Student Art Exhibition.

Kasey attends Medina City School District and is taught by Bobbie Foy.

“The arts play a critical role in stimulating creativity and in the development of well-rounded students within our school systems,” said Hambley. “Our talented students as well as their teachers should be recognized regularly for the essential part they play in advancing learning, discovery and achievement in the State of Ohio.”

The exhibition is open to the public at the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts in the lower level Statehouse connector through December 30, 2017.

The Ohio House of Representatives, Ohio Arts Council, and Ohio Art Education Association joined together for the second annual student exhibition, which showcases high school artwork from all 99 Ohio House districts.

The exhibition recognizes the talents, creativity, and innovation of students who receive high quality arts education instruction as part of their academic experience in school and represents art by some of Ohio's finest high school artists.

Students attended an award ceremony earlier this month at the Vern Riffe Center for Government and the Arts to be recognized for their achievement.
