Today, State Representative Steve Hambley (R-Brunswick) presented a resolution to the Wadsworth High School girls basketball team honoring them as the 2016 Division I State Champions.


“The Wadsworth girls basketball teams are truly incredible individuals,” said Rep. Hambley. “Not only can you see their character on the court, but they also shine in the classroom. With an average GPA of 3.71, these girls serve as model citizens for Wadsworth High School and Medina County. I am proud of this team.”
 
The Wadsworth Grizzlies defeated the Mason Comets with a score of 60 to 51 in the Division I Championship game at the Ohio State University.  The Grizzlies maintained a team GPA of 3.71 and finished the season with a 28-1 record. They were ranked number 1 in the state all season by the Associated Press and were ranked number 13 in the country by USA Today and number 14 in the country by Max Preps.


The Wadsworth High School girls basketball team was present, along with Coach Andrew Booth, to receive the resolution during the Ohio House session.
