Shortly after I was elected to serve Wayne County as the state representative, a local mom called my office to share her passionate concern with me. Her son was diagnosed with autism at an early age, and was preparing to graduate from high school. Now, just as any parent, this mother became anxious due to her son recently receiving his driver’s license. I personally remember the pit in my stomach when my children pulled out of our driveway as they sat behind the wheel.

The Ohio House of Representatives today passed legislation that more clearly defines the requirements placed on concealed handgun licensees (CHL) and active duty military members when they are pulled over by law enforcement during a traffic stop.

Last week the Ohio House of Representatives passed a conservative budget that grows slower than inflation. It is the slowest growth budget since the Great Recession. In an effort to fund priorities, the budget includes four amendments that were spurred by constituents of Wayne County, and Rep. Wiggam's desire to ensure Ohio’s Medicaid program can best serve our fellow Buckeyes. Short summaries of these amendments can be found below.
