COLUMBUS - 

State Representative Scott Ryan (R-Granville Twp.) was sworn in as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives for the 131st General Assembly today.


“I am honored to have the privilege of working for and representing the people of the 71st House District here at the Ohio Statehouse,” he said.


For RyAn, today marks the start of his first term at the Statehouse. He represents the 71st District, which includes portions of Licking County. He has been the owner of a printing company for 25 years and has served as Licking County treasurer. A third-generation resident of the county and member of the Granville High School Class of 1983, he graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.


In addition, Ryan has extensive volunteer leadership experience with local nonprofit organizations including service as a member of the Board of Directors for First United Methodist Church in Newark, the Licking County Family YMCA, and the United Way of Licking County.

State Representative Scott Ryan (R-Granville Township) today announced that a sales tax holiday will be held this weekend, an opportunity for parents to receive some tax relief during back-to-school shopping in preparation for the new school year which will also stimulate economic activity for Ohio’s retailers. This year’s sales tax holiday was established by the state operating budget, House Bill 49.



 
 

Ohio House Approves Legislation Supporting Community Improvement Projects

 

COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives today passed the capital budget bill, legislation that invests $2.62 billion statewide for community improvement projects and contains funding for needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, roads and bridges, waterways and parks. The bill also increases investments in mental health and addiction services facilities.
