Rep. Ryan Applauds Amazon Expansion Expected To Bring One-Thousand Jobs To Central Ohio

COLUMBUS - 

State Representative Scott Ryan (R-Newark) applauded today’s announcement that Amazon will be expanding its operations into Ohio, expected to add about 1,000 jobs in the state over the next several years.


“Amazon's announcement today is outstanding news for Licking County and Central Ohio,” Rep. Ryan said. “The potential impact of Amazon's industry leading cloud computing, distribution, and related business presence is limitless. The initial job creation is fantastic, but with continued private/public cooperation, this can be just the beginning.”


After previously announcing that it would add data computing centers in Dublin and Hilliard, Amazon also announced a third center that will open in New Albany in Licking County.


The deal, which was reached between Amazon and the job-creating entity JobsOhio was announced during a press conference on Friday in the Ohio Statehouse.

COLUMBUS—The Ohio House of Representatives today passed the capital budget bill, legislation that invests $2.62 billion statewide for community improvement projects and contains funding for needed improvements to public services and facilities across the state, including schools, roads and bridges, waterways and parks. The bill also increases investments in mental health and addiction services facilities.
