Funding for eligible projects must be used for purchasing vehicles, equipment, facilities and/or systems utilized by police, fire, and/or EMS providers to enhance public safety. The total request amount for projects is $100,000 per individual political subdivision.

“I am extremely pleased to help create this grant that will assist local governments and first responders in their efforts to provide for our collective safety,” Ryan said.

Applications must be submitted online and will be accepted February 16, 2016 through March 21, 2016, with final awards being made in May 2016. The Local Government Innovation Council will be the final approver of all grants.
