Rep. Smith presents a resolution to Landon Carroll

During a session of the Ohio House of Representatives, State Representative Ryan Smith (R-Bidwell) today presented a House resolution to 13-year-old Landon Carroll of Jackson for winning the Elks National Hoop Shoot Free Throw Program.

Landon began participating in free throw competitions at age 8 and has won the local competition at Elks Lodge #466 every year. This year, he won the local, district, state and regional Elks Hoop Shoot competitions and went on to earn a perfect score at the national finals in Springfield, Massachusetts.

“Landon is a tremendous athlete who has shown great heart and determination,” said Rep. Smith. “I was pleased to honor him before the House today and celebrate his achievement. I anticipate that we will see great things from Landon in the years to come.”

The Elks National Hoop Shoot Free Throw Program gives youth the opportunity to engage in healthy competition, connect with their families and community, and succeed both on and off the court.
