State Representative Ron Young (R-Leroy Twp.) has announced that the State Controlling Board approved the release of $21,790 to Cleveland Metroparks for the construction of a new natural surface hiking trail.

According to documents from the Office of Budget and Management, the trail will have access points along the Chagrin State Scenic River. 

“I am very pleased that funding has been approved for this project in Lake County,” said Rep. Young. “The new trail will provide a great outdoor recreational activity for the families and residents of our community.”

The project is part of the NatureWorks grant program, which provides state funding to local government subdivisions for the acquisition, development, and rehabilitation of recreational areas.
