COLUMBUS—Yesterday, Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) appointed Rep. Bob Cupp (R-Lima) as chair of the Primary and Secondary Education Subcommittee of the House Finance Committee.

Cupp served in this role in the 131st General Assembly, playing a key role in drafting a primary and secondary education budget that comprised approximately 26% of Ohio’s total budget in Fiscal Year 2016. He helped push for a new school funding formula that increased funding for schools.

“I look forward to helping shape the state’s next two-year school funding budget. I hope to make progress on creating a permanent school funding formula, one that’s both fair and adequate to the need. I appreciate the confidence that Speaker Rosenberger has placed in me and look forward to accomplishing important things for our next generation of young people.”

Cupp is serving his second term as state representative. He is a former Ohio Supreme Court Justice, and he also served in the Ohio Senate for 16 years, spending four years as President Pro Tempore. Cupp has served as Lima City Prosecutor and Allen County Commissioner, and is a lifelong Allen County resident. He represents the 4th Ohio House District, which includes all of Allen County.
