State Representative Robert Sprague (R-Findlay) today announced that the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and The Ohio State University (OSU) will be holding training courses locally for the newly created Agricultural Fertilizer Applicator Certification Program. 

Senate Bill 150, which was signed into law in May of this year, requires farmers with 50 or more acres to attend a course on fertilizer application. 

“This program works to ensure that everyone is on the same page as far as fertilizer application,” Rep. Sprague said. “I encourage farmers in the 83rd House District to take the opportunity to attend one of the training courses being offered in Northwest Ohio. Together we can control costs and protect the environment through smart farming practices.”

Training classes, which are in conjunction with OSU Extension, are scheduled as follows:
