State Representative Rick Perales (R-Beavercreek) presented a resolution to David Borden on being named the 2015 Ohio Big Brother of the Year from the Ohio Big Brothers Big Sisters State Association.

“I have a great appreciation for David’s service to his community and to his little, Griffin,” Perales said. “David was a transplant to the Dayton area, and decided to take up a mentorship because he was missing his own family and wanted to do something important in his community. David Borden is exactly the type of person I look to recognize in this fashion. I am honored and humbled by his selfless nature and I am proud that we share a hometown of Beavercreek.”

Since 2004, Borden has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley and has been a mentor to his little brother, Griffin.

The resolution read, in part:

“A highly principled individual, David Borden has given back to his community far more than he has gleaned, and his selfless contributions stand as the hallmark of responsible citizenship. He has expended countless hours and seemingly inexhaustible energy in the interest of others, and it is through the efforts and consistent support of individuals such as he that our state has remained responsive to the diverse needs of its residents.”
