COLUMBUS – Speaker Larry Householder today named Christine Morrison, a longtime budget and policy staffer, budget director for the Ohio House of Representatives.

Morrison has more than 20 years of experience working in the legislative and executive branches at the Statehouse, most recently serving as president of the State Controlling Board.
“I’m thrilled to have Christine joining our team and coming home to the Ohio House,” said Householder (R-Glenford). “Her background and experience will be invaluable as we work to make a difference for the people of Ohio.”

Morrison began her career as an intern with the Ohio House, rising through the ranks to become a caucus policy advisor and, in 2005, being named policy director. She later worked in the Ohio Senate and in the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office.

In 2012, she was appointed to lead Gov. John Kasich’s Cabinet Opiate Action Team, where she led a coordinated, multi-agency response to the state’s drug epidemic. She was later named assistant director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation, where she helped reform Ohio’s workforce development system and create the state’s first-ever unified workforce plan.

In September 2015, she was named president of the State Controlling Board and deputy director of the Office of Budget and Management.
