Today, State Representative Dave Hall (R-Millersburg) was awarded the title “Friend of Independent Higher Education” by the Association of Independent Colleges & Universities of Ohio for his advocacy efforts on behalf of independent institutions during the budget process. This is the inaugural year for the award, and it was given to one senator and one representative who have gone “above and beyond” for the Ohio private college sector.

“This title is a great honor, and I could not be more grateful to the Association of Independent Colleges & Universities of Ohio for making me the first State Representative to receive it,” said Rep. Hall. “The district I represent is the home to Ashland University, an outstanding independent institution and a leading member of the AIUCO. It has been my pleasure to work with the administration and student leaders over the years, and I am thrilled to see that the policies being crafted in Columbus continue to give them the tools they require to teach, learn, and grow in our community.”

The “Friend of Independent Higher Education” award is the most significant title bestowed by the association.
