Columbus -

State Representative Ryan Smith (R-Bidwell) today announced that preliminary terms between the Finance Fund and Campbell’s Market have been agreed upon to bring a grocery store to Vinton County.

The terms regard incentives from the Finance Fund and their Healthy Food Finance Initiative. The Healthy Food Finance Initiative, which was created in House Bill 64, the state biennial budget sponsored by Rep. Smith, was established to combat food deserts in Ohio by incentivizing grocers to locate in underserved areas. The Healthy Food Finance Initiative funds have been combined with local incentives to lower the startup costs of the business.

"For three years Vinton County has been without a grocery store and this announcement marks a major milestone in obtaining one," said Smith. "This exciting development would not have been possible without our partners on the Vinton County Commission, the Finance Fund, Congressman Stivers, Senator Peterson, and many others who have worked tirelessly on behalf of Vinton Countians."
