State Representative Peter Beck (R-Mason) yesterday joined Speaker of the Ohio House William G. Batchelder (R-Medina) and other members of the House veterans caucus in demanding that veterans’ disability benefits be administered by Washington in a significantly more timely fashion, an issue that has continued to worsen over the past several years.

Our great state has made many strides over the last two years in regards to economic improvement and job creation. I am proud to be a part of that and also pleased that, along with policy changes that actually get the state moving in the right direction, we have continued to count transparency as a priority as well.

Spring fortunately brings about warmer weather, but the season change also means that the due date for taxes is upon us. As chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, in the Ohio House of Representatives, I know that taxes are always a topic of conversation.

The Ohio House of Representatives today passed House Bill 54, legislation to incorporate into Ohio tax law recent changes to federal tax law taking effect since December 20, 2012.
