11.07.19 - Rep. Hicks-Hudson To Host Third Grade Reading Guarantee Listening Session

 

State Rep. Paula Hicks-Hudson (D-Toledo) will host a listening session Monday, November 18, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Jones Leadership Academy of Business in Toledo, Ohio to discuss the state’s third grade reading guarantee.

The session will focus on how parents and caretakers of children feel about the test, its effectiveness, and whether the test needs to be changed or scrapped altogether.

 
 

10.30.19 - Rep. Hicks-Hudson Highlights Early Voting Options

 

State Rep. Paula Hicks-Hudson (D-Toledo) today released a statement about Early Voting. Law changes meant to expand options for in-person Early Voting are causing confusion in the Toledo community. Rep. Hicks-Hudson sent a letter to the Board of Elections two months ago when reports of misinformation surfaced during primary voting.

“Early voters can show up and vote early just like they have for the last decade,” said Rep. Hicks-Hudson. “All you need if to know the last four digits of your Social Security Number. Just ask the election officials for a ballot application and you’ll be given a form to fill out before you get your ballot.”

State Reps. Kent Smith (D-Euclid), John Rogers (D-Mentor-on-the-Lake), Paula Hicks-Hudson (D-Toledo) and Mike Sheehy (D-Oregon) toured the critical Brandon Road Lock and Dam complex in Joliet, Illinois, on Friday with 25 other members of the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Legislative Caucus. Brandon Road Lock and Dam is a critical choke point to keep Asian Carp out of the Great Lakes ecosystem.
