Representative Nathan Manning (R-North Ridgeville) has announced that the State Controlling Board approved the release of $2.5 million  to help fund the Nord Advanced Technologies Center at Lorain County Community College, which provides workforce training in engineering and industrial manufacturing.

“Lorain County Community College is a proven leader in education that helps to cultivate valuable workplace skills for Lorain County residents,” Manning said. “These funds will help attract high-wage jobs to the county and allow our residents to learn needed skills to better their lives.”

This project will upgrade the Computer Integrated Manufacturing lab to create separate work spaces for various projects. It will support the engineering programs, while also providing manufacturing industry training. By expanding the lab and updating it, the space will showcase the lab and serve as a way to recruit and retain faculty, staff, and the community.

This project expands the lab by 9,607 square feet, while renovating an existing 6,279 square feet.
