Rep. Lepore-Hagan Announces $500,000 In Funding For Youngstown Youth Recovery Services
Applauds Controlling Board Allocation for Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board

State Rep. Michele Lepore-Hagan (D-Youngstown) today announced $500,000.00 in state dollars to Alta Care Group, Inc. and the Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board in Youngstown.

“While the state grapples with coronavirus and other important national topics, we simply cannot forget that we are still in the middle of the opioid epidemic. Young people throughout Mahoning County will greatly benefit from this allocation and the opportunity to make this important change in their lives,” said Rep Lepore-Hagan. “I am thankful the state is releasing these dollars to help.”

“This funding will provide Alta the opportunity to work with youth on resiliency and recovery in a safe environment.  I can’t think of a better use of the Youngstown Development Center to befit the community,” said Duane Piccirilli, Executive Director of the Mahoning County Mental Health & Recovery Board. “The Youngtown Development Center for years provided a safety net for our most vulnerable citizens. This funding will provide the means to continue these type of services at the former YDC site, now called the Campus of Care.”
