State Rep. Michele Lepore-Hagan (D-Youngstown) released the following statement today after a Franklin County Common Pleas judge denied a motion for an injunction to block the so-called Youngstown Plan from taking affect this week:

“I am very disappointed the judge did not act to temporarily block the CEO takeover of Youngstown City Schools while the constitutionality of the takeover law is still being determined in court,” said Lepore-Hagan. “Youngstown residents have the right to testify on laws that will radically reshape public education in their community, and I remain hopeful that the court will ultimately decide that the so-called Youngstown Plan – crafted behind closed doors and rushed through the legislature – violated these rights. I am determined to continue fighting for an education plan that reflects the unique needs and challenges of the Valley and one that will be shaped by the voices and opinions of its parents, teachers, and other residents.”
