Campbell Excavating Company Selected To Lead State Demolition Project
Local business will help consolidate state psychiatric hospital campus

State Rep. Michele Lepore-Hagan (D-Youngstown) today announced the release of $147,000 to the Ohio Department Mental Health and Addiction Services for a contract with Campbell-based Pro Quality Land Development, Inc. The local family-run company will complete a demolition project at the Northcoast Behavioral Health (NBH) campus in Summit County. The Controlling Board, a panel tasked with oversight of state spending, approved the funding at today’s meeting.

“Small business owners and their enterprises are the lifeblood of our regional economy,” said Lepore-Hagan. “The fact that Pro Quality Land Development, Inc. secured this state contract over ten other competitors speaks to the reputation they’ve earned during nearly twenty years of quality work.”

Father-son duo Tony and Cosmo Iamurri founded CTC Excavating – which later became Pro Quality Land Development, Inc. – in 1999. The company specializes in school building demolitions and other large scale land development projects both in the Mahoning Valley and across the state.

NBH is currently undergoing a major renovation, started in July 2013, that will expand the hospital by more than 100,000 square feet and improve existing facilities.

Pro Quality Land Development, Inc. will be tasked with demolishing three empty masonry buildings that were vacated after the final residents and staff moved into a hospital addition. The excavation company will also remove utility tunnels and cap and re-route utilities to help the state psychiatric hospital consolidate down to a smaller campus.
