State Rep. Michael Sheehy (D-Oregon) is excited to announce that Maumee was recently selected as one of four “Best Hometowns” in Ohio by Ohio Magazine. The northwest Ohio citywill be featured in the magazine’s November issue, which reaches sales racks today.

“I am thrilled to see one of our own communities recognized for all the things that it has to offer, such as beautiful landscapes, friendly neighbors and sustainable job opportunities,” said Sheehy. “I have always known that Maumee is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. This latest honor will help shine a spotlight on Maumee and hopefully attract more tourists and future residents.”

The city of Maumee was chosen because it embodies qualities that make Ohio hometowns special: friendly residents, beautiful parks, charming shops and a rich history celebrated to this day.

To choose the honorees, Ohio Magazine conducts visits across the state to judge towns based on six categories: Community Spirit, Education, Entertainment, Health and Safety, Business Environment and Culture and Heritage. Each hometown will be featured in different monthly issues of Ohio Magazine, showing readers unique places to visit and ways to enjoy each town.
