State Rep. Michael Sheehy (D-Oregon) today issued a statement in support of the Working People’s Day of Action planned for Saturday, February 24 at the Ohio Statehouse. The Ohio march comes on the heels of the introduction of six Republican-sponsored constitutional amendments to implement so-called “right to work” legislation and other workplace restrictions in the Buckeye State.

“This isn’t the first time that working class Americans have had to fight for what they earn, and it certainly won’t be the last. When they try to divide us, we unite. When they try to isolate us, we unite. On Saturday, across these United States, we unite again," said Sheehy.

Thousands of people will gather in cities across the nation Saturday at similar rallies to make a stand against anti-worker restrictions ahead of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Feb. 26 hearing of Janus v. AFSCME Council 31 – a case that could put right to work restrictions in place for public sector workers across the nation.
