State Rep. Michael Sheehy

State Rep. Michael Sheehy (D-Oregon) today applauded the $500,000 donation from the Owens Corning Foundation for Cherry Street Mission Ministries to help establish a building-trades school for adults.

“I am thrilled to see that the Owens Corning Foundation is giving so much to the Cherry Street Mission Ministries to support an expansion in adult education,” said Sheehy. “This collaboration brings with it great opportunities for personal advancement and job growth in our community.”

The collaboration will create the Owens Corning School for Building trades, a 4,000 square foot center that will teach construction, plumbing, electrical, and rough carpentry skills.

Cherry Street Mission Ministries is the largest organization serving individuals who are poor and homeless in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
