On Tuesday, the National Commission on the Structure of the Air Force held a public hearing in the Ohio Statehouse to determine if and how the structure of the Air Force should change. Rep. Michael Sheehy (D-Oregon) drove from Toledo that morning to be in attendance.

“The Citizen-soldier has been the life blood of our Republic since its earliest days,” said Rep. Sheehy. “I continue to support the mission of the Air Force in Lucas County and of the Reserve and National Guard in Ohio.”

Representative Sheehy, a commissioned lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, supports U.S. Armed Forces and the mission of the Air Force and the Ohio Air National Guard.

Earlier this month, Sheehy announced $192,050 in state funding to renew a contract with the Toledo Lucas County Port Authority to provide flight operations and use of runways for the Ohio Air National Guard.
