State Rep. Michael Sheehy (D-Oregon) on Monday announced the release of a Roadwork Development Grant for $200,000 to Owens Corning in Toledo. The company has committed to creating 50 new full-time jobs and retaining 925 full-time positions in conjunction with road improvements to Ottawa Street and other state-funded projects around the Owens Corning campus.

“Funding public development projects like the one at Owens Corning proves a win-win for local companies and the taxpayers,” said Rep. Sheehy. “While businesses receive improvements to infrastructure, the taxpayers enjoy better roads and additional job creation.”

The planned improvements include replacing poor quality roads around Owens Corning that both employees and citizens utilize. The project will also eventually connect the Owens Corning campus with Metro Park, once it is developed.
